Welcome to the online home of Hearing Solutions, San Jose’s hearing expert. Whether you’re suffering from hearing loss yourself, or are doing research for a loved one, we can help. About Hearing Loss
In the United States, more than 10% of the population has significant hearing loss. In fact, hearing loss affects 60% of individuals over the age of 65. Significant hearing loss causes impaired communication, which may lead to frustration, strained relationships, social isolation and depression.
Treatment of hearing loss begins with a hearing evaluation to assess the degree of loss (mild, moderate or severe). In addition, a hearing test will pinpoint the type of loss (i.e., outer ear, middle ear or inner ear problems. When hearing loss is found, the audiologist develops a treatment plan tailored to the needs and goals of each individual patient.
